JCDS holding open interviews for direct support professionals July 13-14

(July 7, 2021 – JOHNSON COUNTY, Kansas) Johnson County Developmental Supports will hold open interviews from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on July 13-14 for jobseekers who are interested in joining our team as a direct support professional. The job fair will take place at the Mark D. Elmore Center, located at 10501 Lackman Road in Lenexa.

Jobseekers are encouraged to apply online prior to attending the open interviews, however, they will be able to apply in person at the event if they are unable to do so beforehand. They should bring a resume and a list of references to the interview. The starting pay for a DSP employed with Johnson County Government is $15.40 an hour.

Direct support professionals play a crucial role in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their quest to live and work in the community, rather than in institutional settings.

Depending on where they work, DSPs perform a multitude of tasks, including personal care, job coaching, appropriate medical/physical care, behavioral guidance, skills teaching, help with household tasks and so much more. JCDS is currently hiring for evening, overnight and weekend shifts in the residential program. Part-time and full-time shifts are available.

Employees receive access to a competitive wage structure, wellness offerings, a comprehensive benefits package, and tuition reimbursement.
